Snapshot: Queen number 19

Dinara Safina is now the best in the world of tennis.

How long will she stay on that slippery deck they call Rating and how often will she make her comeback? Time will tell. She’s a natural born fighter and it isn’t for nothing that she got to the top.

She climbed to this summit for seven long years: in 2002 Dinara was victorious in Sopot, in 2003 she did it in Palermo, in 2005 she was triumphant in Prague and Paris, in  2007 it was the Gold Coast. And in 2008 she had won as much as in all the previous years combined.

No matter what happens next she has already written her name in the history of  tennis. The number of the new queen of tennis is nineteen!
